Activity evenings with Djurkul
Do you like animals?
Do you want to know how things are done on a farm?
Do you want to learn new things and find new friends with the same interest?

Then Djurkul is just the thing for you!

What is it?
The participants of Djurkul meet once a week and explore all the things the farm has to offer with their teachers. We will mainly take care of and cuddle with all animals, and every week we will chose a certain type of animal to learn a little bit more about. Besides taking care of the animals we will also do some horse-back riding, horse-and-wagon driving, and play games - while always maintaining focus on the farm and the animals that live there. Each week every participant will be able to touch, question, learn and have fun!
An evening with Djurkul will look something like this:
16:30 The participants are picked up in Skavlöten by horse and carriage.
16:45 We arrive at Rönninge By and start to take care of all of the farm's smaller animals: goats, pigs, rabbits, chicken and cats. Once in a while we will take care of the larger animals instead, and the Children will get to meet our cows, horses and sheep.
17:45 We sit down and cuddle with an animal of our choice and learn a little bit more about them. We find out what they eat, what their family names are, what they are good for and much more.
18:15 Everybody goes back to the horse and carriage to return to Skavlöten.
Once everybody has received a horse introduction we will have more horses with us on our way back, with a chance for everyone to horseback ride or drive a horse and carriage.
18:30 All Children are back at Skavlöten and ready to be picked up by their waiting parents.

Where?
All participants will be picked up at 16:30 at Skavlöten (the big parkinglot, Skavlötens motionsgård) with horse and carriage or tractor and carriage. We will then make our way to Rönninge By. At Rönninge By we have over 100 animals of different kinds. There are cows, sheep, pigs, horses, goats, chickens, rabbits, cats and a Little dog. During one semester at Djurkul you will have the opportunity to meet all these animals! It is a real opportunity to come closer and learn more about them.

This activity is for children from 6 years old. There is no upper age limit. If your child is too young to participate you can still fill out the form and your child will be placed in que until they have reached the proper age.

Insurance
Children who live in Täby are normally insured 24/7 through a communal insurance. Djurkul (Mäler i Täby AB) takes no responsibility for this. You have to investigate if this is relevant for your child or not.
We recommend all participants to have a private insurance (for example home insurance) which covers horse-back riding and other horse- and animal related activities.

Affiliates
We rent animals and buildings from Djur & Fritid, who are in charge of the daily running of Rönninge By on behalf of Täby Kommun.
